Dumpster Rules

Dumpster Use Policy   

Each year we host Spring and Fall dumpster days. We provide two dumpsters for trash, and a separate section for metal recycling. 

In respect of VNA members whose membership dues pay for the dumpsters, and to prevent abuse of this community service to the neighborhood please note the following rules:

Triangle Park: 8AM to 12PM 

Please do not arrive before the volunteers are onsite to supervise. 

 

PERMITTED ITEMS:

• General household items

• Scrap/junk
  
  NOT PERMITTED:

• Lawn waste. Leaf and brush. (It is illegal to mix lawn waste with regular trash. We have separate curbside pickups for lawn waste)

• Hazardous waste (chemicals)

• Household appliances (small appliances are accepted for metal scrap)

• Automobile tires

• Medical waste

• Paint / Paint cans (unless empty or dry)

• Fuel containers

• Batteries

• Concrete (small chunks ok)

• Bulky items (couches, mattresses, large furniture, etc.)

Bulky items will NOT be accepted (no couches, mattresses, large furniture, etc). These items can be disposed of for FREE by scheduling a bulky item pickup with the City using the 311 service. More details here.
